The Cooper Cougars will face off against the Colleyville Heritage Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cooper had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Chapin with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Cooper's seven-point performance the contest before.

Daniel Bray was a one-man wrecking crew for Cooper as he rushed for 253 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry. Bray really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Cummins, who threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Colleyville Heritage waltzed into Friday's game with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Denton, posting a 71-13 win on the road. The result was nothing new for Colleyville Heritage, who have now won eight games by 31 points or more so far this season.

Braden Blueitt and Luke Ullrich were among the main playmakers for Colleyville Heritage as the former picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Colleyville Heritage also got a significant boost from Siona Vailahi, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

Cooper is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Colleyville Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cooper was taken down by Colleyville Heritage 63-21 in their previous meeting back in November of 2021. Can Cooper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
