The Monrovia Wildcats will square off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mayfair will be up against a hot Monrovia squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Temple City a 9-0 shutout on Friday.
Not much got past James Quesenbery, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Temple City off the board. Quesenbery has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Huelster, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Mayfair got the win against Lynwood on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-0.
David Perez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Jacob Brown was incredible, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Aidan Sullivan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Mayfair was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.
Monrovia's record is now 12-3-1. As for Mayfair, their record now sits at 13-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Monrovia has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Mayfair struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monrovia came up short against Mayfair in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 5-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
