Basketball Recap: Woodlawn-B.R. Comes Up Short

Woodlawn-B.R. was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southside Sharks. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sharks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Woodlawn-B.R. lost, don't look at Kaleb Brandon. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-11 to rack up 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Brandon a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Kelinee Stone, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points and seven boards.

Woodlawn-B.R.'s loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Southside, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 23-14 record this season.

Woodlawn-B.R. has already played their next contest, a 53-48 win against Scotlandville on the 11th. As for Southside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-47 defeat against Sulphur on the 11th.
