Baseball Recap: Bauxite Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Bauxite Miners didn't have quite enough to beat the Rison Wildcats and fell 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Miners have lost by just one run.

Kade Deno and Tony Fox did some serious damage despite the final result: Deno scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Fox scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Bauxite has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Rison's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

When Bauxite and Rison next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bauxite will try to stop Bismarck's three-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Rison will take on DeWitt and their three-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
