Volleyball Recap: My'niah Gouldsby Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Forney

Longview's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Forney Jackrabbits. This was a revenge game for the Lobos: when they faced off against the Jackrabbits back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

While Longview might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Forney scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23.

Longview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was My'Niah Gouldsby, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Gouldsby a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Orban, who had 11 assists and seven digs.

Forney lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ashley Wojtowicz, who had 15 assists and 12 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Smith, who had 19 digs and six assists.

Longview pushed their record up to 22-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Forney, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-21.

Longview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against North Forney on the 14th. As for Forney, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Tyler Legacy on the 14th.
