Basketball Recap: Chemawa Indian Comes Up Short

Chemawa Indian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Salem Academy Crusaders, falling 60-19. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Crusaders are ranked 38th).

Chemawa Indian's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Salem Academy, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2.

Coming up, Chemawa Indian will head out to take on Regis at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem Academy, they will challenge Western Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Western Christian likes a good challenge.
