Baseball Recap: Oxford's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Oxford posted their closest win since May 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hernando Tigers 4-3. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Barrett Kamman tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Oxford's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bowen Vaughn, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Logan Dorrell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Oxford's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Hernando, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-8-1.

Oxford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
