Baseball Game Preview: Northwood Timberwolves vs. University Trojans

The Northwood Timberwolves will venture away from home to square off against the University Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwood hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Northwood came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Paraclete, falling 7-1.

Meanwhile, University didn't have quite enough to beat Woodbridge on Friday and fell 2-1. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrew Shean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Sean Maher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Emrich, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northwood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14-1. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Northwood skirted past University 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
