Hazard is a perfect 10-0 against Leslie County since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Hazard is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Hazard came out on top against Jackson County on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs walked away with an 8-5 win over the Generals.
The team relied heavily on Trace Kincaid, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Clint Davidson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Leslie County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against Morgan County on Saturday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Landry Collett was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Rylan Simpson was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Leslie County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Hazard pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Leslie County, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-13.
Leslie County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hazard hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Leslie County, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain Hazard's hitters?
