Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Gets the Win

The Cypress Creek Bears earned a 7-3 win over the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Christian Capellan looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Cypress Creek let Luis Molina Jr. and David Freitez run wild. Molina Jr. went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Freitez went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those hits marked the first that Molina Jr. has got this season. Julius Rivera was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

The victory got Cypress Creek back to even at 2-2. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cypress Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Ducks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
