Basketball Game Preview: Washington Hatchets vs. Evansville Memorial Tigers

The Washington Hatchets will square off against the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Washington has four straight victories, Evansville Memorial has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Washington was fully in charge, breezing past Vincennes Lincoln 53-20. The Hatchets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season.

Katie Reed was her usual excellent self, going 9-for-14 to rack up 23 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was her eighth in a row with at least 17 points. Shay Hawk was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial had to suffer through a 73-28 loss at the hands of Plainfield.

Evansville Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Washington, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Washington was able to grind out a solid victory over Evansville Memorial in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 61-49. Do the Hatchets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
