Softball Recap: Northwest Victorious

While Northwest put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Roosevelt. The Wolves narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Riders 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since June 15th.

Northwest pushed their record up to 29-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-9.

Looking ahead, Northwest will take on Urbandale at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will venture away from home to challenge Des Moines East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Scarlets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.47 runs per game on average), something the Riders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
