Volleyball Recap: Beckman Falls Short Against Ranked Corona Del Mar

Beckman faced Corona del Mar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sea Kings. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Sea Kings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

While Beckman ultimately came up short, they really made Corona del Mar work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-17, 17-25, 25-17.

Beckman's loss dropped their record down to 28-7. As for Corona del Mar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season.

Beckman will take on San Clemente at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Corona del Mar, they will head out on the road to square off against Mira Costa at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Sea Kings surely won't give up without a fight.
