Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They lost 10-1 to the Stockdale Mustangs. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Liberty got a good showing from Anthony Gaitan, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Gaitan has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Liberty saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyce Perez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Stockdale, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Coming up, Liberty will take on Red Bluff at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Stockdale, they have already played their next matchup, an 8-1 win against Fresno on the 14th.
