Northwest Catholic came out on top against Simsbury on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Indians narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Trojans 6-5. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anthony Nolan looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Northwest Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Gatinella, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those two hits gave Gatinella a new career-high. Marc Cheney was another, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Northwest Catholic now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Simsbury, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Northwest Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Hale Ray at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Little Noises will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Simsbury, they will host Canton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
