Basketball Recap: Walter Northway Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Walter Northway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 45-37 victory over the Minto Lakers on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Lakers last Saturday, they had to take a 44-41 loss.

Several Lakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ruth Fox, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jena Smith, who earned 12 points.

Walter Northway's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1. As for Minto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walter Northway will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Birchwood Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Minto, they will venture away from home to face off against Nelson Island at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
