Basketball Recap: Reservoir Takes a Loss

Reservoir lost against Mt. Hebron back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between the Reservoir 'Gators and the Mt. Hebron Vikings didn't end well, with the Reservoir 'Gators falling 81-62. While losing is never fun, the 'Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Vikings are ranked 54th).

Reservoir has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points over those games. As for Mt. Hebron, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reservoir won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mt. Hebron, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Marriotts Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mt. Hebron's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
