Softball Recap: Arlington Comes Up Short

Arlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Marlboro Central Dukes. The Admirals were not able to make up for their loss to the Dukes from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Courtney Hillier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Laffin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Marlboro Central, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arlington will square off against North Rockland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marlboro Central, they will take on Spackenkill at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25 runs per game on average), something the Dukes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
