Recap: Flatirons Academy Bison vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles
The Flatirons Academy Bison waltzed into their game on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over Dayspring Christian Academy. That's another feather in the cap for Flatirons Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Flatirons Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emily Dehaan led the charge by scoring 20 points. That's the first time this season that Dehaan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brylin Gomer, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds and six blocks.
Flatirons Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.78 points. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flatirons Academy will square off against Denver Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dayspring Christian Academy on the road again on Monday and play against Bishop Machebeuf at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Bishop Machebeuf has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
