Garaway proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Conotton Valley Rockets 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won four in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Garaway who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-22.

Audrey Miller paced Garaway's offense, picking up 18 kills. Miller got some help from Charlee Yoder and her 43 assists. Miller was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Conotton Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Whitney Watkins and Ava Williams. Watkins had 15 digs and two assists, while Williams hit 52% for 13 kills and 15 digs, two aces, and one block. Williams has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 24 times she's played.

Garaway's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Conotton Valley, their defeat ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5.

Coming up, Garaway will welcome Fort Frye at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conotton Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
