Baseball Recap: St. Albans Comes Up Short

St. Albans suffered their closest defeat since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Little Hoyas this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Tuesday.

St. Albans saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Dobbie, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Albans and nudges their season record down to 9-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Georgetown Prep, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, St. Albans will venture away from home to challenge Landon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Georgetown Prep, they will welcome Riverdale Baptist at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last five games the Crusaders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
