Baseball Recap: Mountain Grove Panthers vs. Pacific Indians
Mountain Grove had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 10-12 to make it four. They lost 12-2 to the Pacific Indians. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
As for Pacific, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
For Pacific's part, they got a great performance from Tucker Burrington as he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Burrington a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Kossuth, who fired off three home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Nate Ball, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Mountain Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-4 win against Cuba on the 30th. As for Pacific, they have also already played their next game, an 8-6 victory against Licking on the 2nd.
