Baseball Recap: Ambassador Christian School Sets Scoring Season-High Against Piedmont Community Charter

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ambassador Christian School). They put the hurt on the Piedmont Community Charter Patriots with a sharp 10-3 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Jax McCoy was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marek Romano, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Roman Degnan was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

With the victory, Ambassador Christian School broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Christian School will head out on the road to challenge Combine Academy National at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
