Basketball Recap: Carter Myers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead River Valley over Olentangy Berlin

If River Valley was feeling good fresh off their 75-36 takedown of Ridgedale last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell 80-70 to the Olentangy Berlin Bears on Tuesday. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

River Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Myers, who went 8-for-13 en route to 18 points and seven boards. Myers' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Eli Snyder was another key player, shooting 44% from the field on his way to 23 points and six rebounds.

River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

River Valley and Olentangy Berlin will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings will challenge rival Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Olentangy Berlin is set to face off against their familiar foe Hilliard Darby at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
