Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Pymatuning Valley Lakers
Grand Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
On Saturday, Grand Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-29 to Southeast.
Meanwhile, Pymatuning Valley stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Mathews at home to the tune of 50-17. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-6.
It was another big night for Jolene Sharpe, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mae Struna, who scored 12 points.
Grand Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Pymatuning Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Grand Valley came up short against Pymatuning Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 49-37. Can Grand Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
