Basketball Recap: Acadiana Christian Takes a Loss

If Acadiana Christian was feeling good fresh off their 58-37 takedown of John Paul the Great Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Acadiana Christian Lions were beaten by Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool 66-36 on Friday. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Acadiana Christian still got an impressive performance from Kollin Thibeaux, who posted 29 points and three steals. Thibeaux's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Lacoste, who scored four points.

Tristan Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave Thomas a new career-high. Miles King was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.

Acadiana Christian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Acadiana Christian has already played their next game, a 59-54 defeat against Shreveport HomeSchool Sports on the 14th. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-23 victory against Faith Training Christian Academy on the 13th.
