Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Extends Winning Streak to Four

Canyon del Oro waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers by a score of 6-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Regen Mazura made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Carson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season.

Canyon del Oro's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Canyon del Oro will look to defend their home field on Friday against Nogales at 4:00 p.m. As for Tucson High Magnet School, they will take on Corona del Sol at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
