Baseball Recap: Burlington Takes a Loss

Burlington was the 7-2 winner over Akron when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Burlington came up short against Akron on Saturday, falling 13-4.

Darian McDonough made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Burlington's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Akron, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burlington will host Goodland at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Akron, they will challenge Peetz at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Akron's pitchers better be ready for this one: Peetz has averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
