Baseball Game Preview: Greenwood Gators vs. Christian County Colonels

The Greenwood Gators will square off against the Christian County Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Greenwood 1.7, Christian County 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Christian County will be up against a hot Greenwood squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Gators came out on top against Franklin-Simpson by a score of 5-2 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Christian County came up short against Trigg County on Tuesday and fell 6-1.

Christian County's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 23-6.

Greenwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Christian County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Gators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
