Softball Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Beats Medicine Lodge for Their Sixth Straight Win

With a playoff win on the line, Cedar Vale/Dexter rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Medicine Lodge Indians, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Zoe Davidson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Hedgecock, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Cedar Vale/Dexter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Medicine Lodge struck out 13 times.

Cedar Vale/Dexter's win bumped their record up to 22-1. As for Medicine Lodge, they moved to 12-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Cedar Vale/Dexter wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Oskaloosa on the 30th. Medicine Lodge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
