Baseball Recap: Deer Creek-Mackinaw Triumphs

Deer Creek-Mackinaw came out on top against Delavan on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Chiefs walked away with an 8-3 win over the Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Chiefs: when they faced off against the Panthers on Saturday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Chase Noe looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Deer Creek-Mackinaw is 2-1 when Noe allows one or fewer hits, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Chuck Hathaway was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Drew Swadinsky, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory got Deer Creek-Mackinaw back to even at 8-8. As for Delavan, their record is now 7-6.

Looking ahead, Deer Creek-Mackinaw will face off against Heyworth at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Delavan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Havana at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
