Basketball Game Preview: Hoisington Cardinals vs. Haven Wildcats

Hoisington is 2-8 against Haven since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cardinals challenge the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Hoisington was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-48 to Ellinwood.

Mason Martin put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Robinson, who earned seven points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Hoisington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Haven entered their tilt with Smoky Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 65-21. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Hoisington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Haven, their win bumped their record up to 13-1-1.

Hoisington came up short against Haven when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 43-35. Can Hoisington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
