Baseball Recap: Chelmsford Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chelmsford walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Braintree Wamps on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Matthew Stuart was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 8.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Chelmsford got a massive performance out of John Latham, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Latham a new career-high. Jack Keyo was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Chelmsford's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Braintree, the defeat snapped their winning streak at ten games and leaves them with a 20-9 record.

As of now, neither Chelmsford nor the Wamps have any future games scheduled.
