After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mulvane, Collegiate was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Clearwater Indians get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Isaac Vanderburg made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Drumright, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Mason Bond was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI.

Collegiate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Collegiate's record is now 15-6. As for Clearwater, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Collegiate beat the Indians by a score of 9-4 later that day.
