Basketball Recap: Whitesboro Takes a Loss

Whitesboro was the 50-48 winner over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Whitesboro Warriors fell 52-43 to the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Red Devils are ranked 651st).

Whitesboro now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitesboro will face off against Auburn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, they will take on Holland Patent at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
