Football Game Preview: Lockport Lions vs. Jamestown Red & Green

Lockport hasn't had much luck against Jamestown recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will head out to challenge the Red & Green at 7:00 p.m. Lockport has given up an average of 38.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lockport is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against West Seneca West on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions were dealt a 34-6 defeat at the hands of the Warhawks. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Warhawks are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jamestown). They really took it to Niagara Falls for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Red & Green in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won seven in a row.

Jamestown now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lockport, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Lockport was dealt a bruising 58-10 defeat at the hands of Jamestown in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 34-10.
