Volleyball Game Preview: Ponte Vedra Sharks vs. Nease Panthers

The Ponte Vedra Sharks will head out on the road to square off against the Nease Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Ponte Vedra narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Global Outreach Charter Academy 3-2.

Ponte Vedra wouldn't go down easily and took Global Outreach Charter Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 21-25, 20-25, 25-20, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Nease came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Kodiaks by a score of 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 15-25, 25-16.

Ponte Vedra's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Nease, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Ponte Vedra couldn't quite get it done against Nease in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
