Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes a Loss

Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Siegel Stars. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stars earlier this season, when they won 51-30.

Despite the loss, Riverdale saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Madison Taylor posted 21 points. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in points.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Siegel, with the victory, they broke their 11-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will take on Blackman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Siegel, they will face off against Oakland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakland has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 184 points over their last three matches.
