Softball Recap: Rock Springs Drops Highest Score of Season Against South

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rock Springs). They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the South Bison on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the TIGERS in their matchups with the Bison: they've now won three in a row.

Rilynn Wester was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Rock Springs got a massive performance out of Kyndall Turnwall, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Turnwall a new career-high. Tarin Anderson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Rock Springs lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 4-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Rock Springs' record is now 6-11-1. As for South, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 0-0 draw on Friday.
