Softball Recap: Malden Takes a Loss

Malden lost against Kennett back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Green Wave lost 9-1 to the Indians. The contest marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Malden saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylee Brown, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Malden has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Kennett, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, Malden will face off against Portageville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.83 runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Kennett, they will square off against Risco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
