Volleyball Recap: Kirtland Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Kirtland entered their tilt with Edgewood on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

While Kirtland might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Edgewood scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Ellie Spencer paced Kirtland's offense, picking up nine kills. Spencer got some help from Andriana Grman and her 14 assists. Willa Gordon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

When it comes to explaining why Edgewood lost, don't look at Lucianna Paolillo. Despite the final result, she had nine digs.

Kirtland's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Kirtland is taking a road trip to challenge West Geauga at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edgewood, they will host Chardon at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
