Basketball Recap: Marshall County's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Marshall County lost against Tullahoma back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Marshall County Tigers took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tullahoma Wildcats.

When it comes to explaining why Marshall County lost, don't look at Jabrae Howard. Despite the final result, he went 14 for 18 en route to 31 points and three blocks. That's the most points Howard has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jayce Harney, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, Marshall County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

It was another big night for Xavier Farrell, who went 13 of 19 on his way to 43 points for Tullahoma. Farrell's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Tinnon, who earned eight points in addition to 15 boards and three blocks.

Marshall County's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Tullahoma, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Marshall County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-61 win against Giles County on the 17th. As for Tullahoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-42 victory against Central Magnet on the 17th.
