Baseball Recap: Beddingfield Takes a Loss

Beddingfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 16-2 to the Martin County Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Tuesday.

Beddingfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Kirby, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. That run marked the first that Kirby scored this season.

Beddingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Martin County, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Beddingfield will take on Goldsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martin County, they will square off against Roanoke Rapids at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
