Volleyball Game Preview: Struthers Wildcats vs. Howland Tigers

The Struthers Wildcats will head out to face off against the Howland Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Struthers is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Struthers challenged Springfield on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Tigers.

While Struthers had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.

Struthers' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elliana Benson, who had 17 assists and 12 digs, and Trynyty Nail, who had 19 digs and two assists. Benson has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Melyka West was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

Meanwhile, Howland lost 3-0 to Hoover on Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-20.

Howland's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Struthers, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
