Basketball Game Preview: Oldham County Colonels vs. South Oldham Dragons

The Oldham County Colonels are taking a road trip to take on the South Oldham Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oldham County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Oldham County beat Evangel Christian 68-63. That's two games straight that the Colonels have won by exactly five points.

Meanwhile, South Oldham came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 83-64 win over the Wildcats. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Wildcats are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Oldham's victory bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Oldham County, their win bumped their record up to 10-16.

Oldham County came up short against South Oldham in their previous matchup back in January, falling 74-68. Can Oldham County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
