Basketball Recap: Fremont Eagles vs. Goshen RedHawks

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Goshen RedHawks, falling 59-36. The contest was a close 19-17 at the break, but unfortunately for the Eagles it sure didn't stay that way.

Goshen was led to victory by Karter Marcum and Levi Sawatzky. Marcum dropped a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds, while Sawatzky went 8-for-19 on his way to 21 points. Goshen is 7-3 when Sawatzky posts 20 or more points, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braxton Cline, who posted six points and six assists.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Goshen, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Fremont will be playing at home against Central Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Noble will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Fremont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Goshen, they will venture away from home to square off against Westview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Goshen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.6 points per game this season.
