Baseball Recap: Excelsior Springs Comes Up Short

If Excelsior Springs was riding high fresh off their 19-1 takedown of Raytown South last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 11-5 to the Smithville Warriors on Wednesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Excelsior Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Smithville, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Excelsior Springs will take on Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smithville, they will venture away from home to face off against Logan-Rogersville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
