After flying high against Barstow last Friday, Granite Hills came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 16-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silverado Hawks on Wednesday. The Cougars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Granite Hills got a massive performance out of Mylie Shepard, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Saylor Croom, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Silverado, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Granite Hills beat the Hawks by a score of 17-4 on Friday.
