Basketball Recap: Kennedy Caldwell Key Part of a Team Effort in Golden Flashes Win

Champion won the last time they faced Newton Falls and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Champion Golden Flashes walked away with a 43-35 win over the Newton Falls Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Flashes.

Champion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kennedy Caldwell out in front who posted ten points and six steals. Caldwell is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Doan, who earned 12 points.

Champion pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Newton Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Champion will face off against Brookfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Champion is facing Brookfield at the right time seeing as Brookfield is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Newton Falls, they will challenge Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
