Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They lost 54-30 to the Byron Nelson Bobcat. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Texans have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Byron Nelson found their leader in freshman Berkley Smith, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Kinsey Morris was another key player, going 5 of 9 en route to 12 points.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 10-22. As for Byron Nelson, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will face off against Trinity at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Byron Nelson, they will challenge Bell at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Byron Nelson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
